Motors Coffee Flat White: Style Over Substance
Motors Coffee has undeniable visual appeal—the automotive-themed design and industrial interior make it a striking place, and it’s easy to see why it draws a crowd. When you walk in, the energy feels lively and the space has real character. Unfortunately, what ends up in the cup doesn’t quite match the atmosphere in the room.

Flat White — This was a disappointing drink from the start. The espresso base had a noticeably bitter, unbalanced flavor profile—sharp and astringent in a way that suggested either an over-extracted shot or a blend dialed in for volume rather than nuance. What made it worse was seeing a pre-pulled espresso sitting on the bar before it was used in my drink. A flat white depends on the freshness of its shot; espresso begins to oxidize within seconds, and that degraded, hollow bitterness was unmistakable in the finished drink. The milk texture was acceptable, but no amount of microfoam can save a shot that’s already past its prime.
