Incredible Pastries, Modest Coffee – A Cosy Spot in Angel
Pophams in Angel has been on my radar for a while, and after finally dropping in, I get why it's got a bit of a cult following.
The pastries are exceptional—seriously some of the best I’ve had in London. Flaky, buttery, perfectly layered with inventive fillings that actually work. I had a croissant-based pastry, and it was spot-on: crispy edges, soft centre, rich flavour. You can tell everything’s made with care.
The space itself is small but charming—minimalist, warm, and very much in line with the vibe you'd expect from a bakery that takes its craft seriously. Seating inside is limited, but there’s a nice flow to the place. It’s the kind of spot that feels like it belongs in the neighbourhood.
Pros:
🥐 Truly top-tier pastries—worth the trip alone
🪟 Calm, stylish, and inviting atmosphere
If you’re in the area and want something indulgent, I’d absolutely recommend Pophams, it hits differently post-run.
